YEAR 3
It is good to be back and seeing those bright faces listening carefully and doing their best to achieve their goals.
The students are already buzzing with excitement as they explore and experiment with a full range of learning opportunities and resources. We have three new students in our class, and we trust they will enjoy their time with us and make lots of new friends as we all learn together. So welcome to Ali Alghazaly, Ruaa Saadi and Guleena Yousafzai.
A few tips to remember.
- Each student, on their own individual learning paths, should be praised for their effort rather than their ability.
- They must be able to observe our confidence in them.
- Despite any failure they may encounter, this must be considered as one of the natural outcomes of their learning process.
Studying should never be taken for granted. So if children wish to do well, they must be prepared to learn, be organised, be confident in their own abilities and complete given tasks. They should appreciate the value of being well organised, to be able to manage their time and be prepared for assessment tasks.
The list below will assist the grade threes to meet some of their learning responsibilities for 2019.
- Mobile Library van on every 2nd Tuesday.
- Borrowing time for school library on alternative Tuesdays.
- Changing readers on Tuesday. Reader journals should be daily signed by parents. Students must bring their homework plastic red pockets to school every day.
- Spelling Tests every Friday.
- Sports uniform for Tuesday and Thursday for P.E.
- School uniform for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Girls to wear school skirts.
- English Homework Booklet, Maths Plus Homework and Reading Eggs/Mathletics, all done during the week at home and handed in on Friday for corrections.
- Each child to bring 2 boxes of tissues for the class supply.
- A piece of fresh fruit daily for fruit time in the class.
- Fresh water in their water bottle daily.
- Daily swimming lessons in the last week of this term.
- Major study projects this term; Power point or posters for Integrated Studies in Health and History.
- Grade Three Electives on Wednesdays and it involves Body Movement/Gardening for Term 1.
Could you please support and assist your child to complete many of the above tasks?
You are welcomed to meet with the class teacher to discuss any concerns so please contact the office and a suitable time will be arranged.
Looking forward to working with you and your child to achieve many successful learning goals.
